Lake Hartwell Baby Shower

President's weekend I went up to Hartwell, GA for a girl's trip.  My girlfriends and I from college try to get together once a year for a mini-vacation.  Miranda's parents have a lake house on Lake Hartwell.
Miranda and Melissa threw the cutest baby shower for me and Baby Mitchell!

The food was delicious and the cake matched the invitation!  Miranda also made an adorable diaper cake and diaper wreath!  They also had the cutest banner for Baby Mitchell, that I'm hoping Luke will hang when we come home from the hospital!

Ever Bachelorette party we decorate a frame and we all sign it.  So they decided to start a new tradition for the baby shower!  They bought the book Love you Forever and everyone signed it for Baby Mitchell!  It is such a sweet book, and it means the world to me with their sweet wishes in the cover!
Baby Mitchell was well gifted from my sweet girls.  This shower meant the world to me!  Thank you Melissa and Miranda for throwing it! and Thank you to my other sweet girls for being there!  I love you all! and Baby Baby can't wait to meet his/her sweet Aunts!

Megan is 2!

Megan is our sweet, fun, amazing, very smart, beautiful niece!  As if you cannot already tell, we just adore her!

She is my older brother's (and Andrea's!) little girl!  She turned two Sunday.....my how time flies.  We had a little family party for her at our house.  She had a party the day before with her Moody family, so by Sunday night she knew just what the day was all about!

It was our family (and Tom Tom) along with cousins Bob and Marilee Dunklee, and Megan's Great Aunt Barbara and Great Uncle Sam who were all in town.  We missed Uncle David soooooo much!

Aunt Jessie (me) was in charge of the birthday supper, although she requested peas, we had a better meal of baked spaghetti!

In the weeks leading up to her birthday she kept telling her Mama she wanted a RED birthday cake!  So my Mama (Mama B) made her a red velvet cake, with Elmo and friends on it.  She thoroughly enjoyed her cake and ice cream.  And of course, no birthday in our family is complete without number cookies.  We made #2 cookies for the party, with RED sprinkles of course!  I believe we only sang "Happy Birthday" and blew out the candles twice!

Baby girl loved her presents, and had a blast opening them not once, not twice, but several times!

She is ALL of ours sweet sweet girl, and we're just so thankful for her sweet parents that share her with us ALL the time!  You should see her on here a lot as well!

Baby Mitchell is on the way!

I decided to start this blog for all of my family and friends, once the baby arrives! However, I figured I should go ahead and do a few post, that way I'll know what I'm doing come May!

Luke and I are expecting our first child, due May 23rd!  We are very excited (and nervous) to welcome our baby in a few months.  We decided not to find out what we're having and instead let it be a surprise.  Some people think we're crazy, and some are excited as we are about waiting.
13 weeks
So to recap....We found out in September at 6 weeks about our news!  We let a few people know at 8 weeks...and then finally began to spread the news at 12 weeks, once we heard our baby's sweet heartbeat.  I had morning (all day) sickness from week 6 until about week 10 or 11.  Luckily I was able to hide it!

17 weeks

19 weeks

I first felt the baby move on December 22nd...so according to what my mother says (according to her grandmother) baby will make it's debut 5 months and 5 days later....May 27th! We shall see.  First ultrasound was at 20 weeks and the doctors did not spoil the surprise...however, we'll see if that holds true. I so hope it does.

22 weeks

I go back to the doctor at 25 weeks, and as all expectant parents, we hope to have good news from our ultrasound.
Luke and I appreciate all of your love, support and prayers at this special time for our family!
